Alice M. Vasill, 93, of Genoa, died Monday evening, March 31, 2008, in Orchard Villa, Oregon, Ohio. Alice was born February 16, 1915, in Bayfield, Wisconsin, to Edward and Melvina Arseno Trombley. She married George J. Vasill in Genoa on August 12, 1960, and he preceded her in death June 4, 2007. For many years Alice was the cook and owner/operator of Alices Wayside Restaurant in Gould City, Michigan. She had also cooked at the former Star & Lils in Genoa. Alice loved to cook and bake but especially loved taking care of her family. Survivors include her children, Richard Marion Majewski of Genoa, Patricia Alvin Cutcher of Genoa, Alice Richard Witt of Williston, Joann Walter Trier of Bridgeport, MI, Frank Patti Komives of Maumee, Mike Komives and Angela Moore both of Toledo. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 40 years, George, sons, Jim, Jack, and Andy, four brothers and her faithful companion, Molly. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery. Memorials for Alice may be directed to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #3, Genoa. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Pam Brown and Sandy Etts and to her special grandchildren, Mark Witt, Tara Taylor and Nina Komives.
