Alice M. Sattler

Alice Sattler, age 90 of Woodville, OH, passed away on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at Bay Park Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 25, 1927 in Findlay, OH to Warren and Harriet (Roth) Bright. She married Don Sattler on Nov. 18, 1950 and they enjoyed over 52 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2003. Alice was a member of the Ladies Sodality at St. Rose Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, and raising canaries. After having nine children of their own, she fostered 24 infants through the Catholic Charities. Alice is survived by her children, Michael (Yvonne) Sattler, Melissa (Bob) Friedrick, René (Carl) Purtee, Marianne (Shawn) Pirolli, Loretta (Doug) Thieroff, Amy Johnson, Al (Brenda) Sattler, Jennifer (Jeff) Cross and Larry Sattler; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and grandson, James McAllister. Visitation will be held from 2-9 pm on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH. Additional visitation will be held from 12-1:30 pm on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 in the funeral home with funeral services to follow at 1:30 pm. Interment will be in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Little Sisters of the Poor.
