Alice Marie Markland

Alice Marie Markland, age 79, of Perrysburg, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, on June 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born February 6, 1945, to Albert and Stella (Kovacs) Werner and was proud of her Hungarian heritage. She was a 1963 graduate of Central Catholic High School and remained close to her class her entire life. Alice was a Realtor for the Danberry Company. She was a member of Saint John XXIII Catholic Church in Perrysburg and the Exchange Club of Maumee.

Alice met the love of her life, Pat Markland 41 years ago and together they enjoyed playing golf, tending to their flower and vegetable gardens, and in recent years, vacationing in Florida. She was known for her happy nature, recognized by her license plate, IAMHAPY. Alice's favorite role was being a proud grandparent and she treasured her time supporting her grandchildren at every event.

Alice had many friends, many for her entire life. She is survived by her loving husband, Pat Markland; daughters, Tracey Edwards (Steve) and Michele Kriner (Kelly); stepdaughter, Mindi Marshall (Matt); beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Edwards, Delanie Kriner, Dana Kriner, Miller Marshall, Macsen Marshall; in-laws, Jim Markland and Judy Ruple, Skip and Bonnie Markland; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024, in the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg. Alice’s funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 24250 Dixie Highway, Perrysburg. Interment will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg.

Memorial tributes in Alice's honor may be made to the National Exchange Club or Mobile Meals of Toledo.
