Alice Mae Edmonds, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 30, 2021. She was 87 years old. Alice was surrounded in love by her children. She graduated from Pleasant High School. She worked at the General Telephone Company, Whirlpool, Ballingers Funeral Home, and did home care. Alice was a member of Faith Family Worship Center. She is preceded in death by her parents Verna Baker Toombs and Frances Bud Toombs, her husband Harold Edmonds; her daughter Deb Edmonds Comstock; her grandsons Bobby Potts and Rusty Comstock; her 7 sisters and 2 brothers. Her surviving family include her children: Rhonda (Dave) Atkinson, Rob (Judy) Edmonds, Joette (Marvin) Hill and Ralph Edmonds; her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister Barb Bryant as well as many nieces and nephews. Alice’s first passion in life was her complete devotion to the Lord. She lived her days serving him whole heartedly. She was an example for many on how to walk by faith. She never missed an opportunity to talk about Jesus. She loved being in church and singing praises to God. In her younger years, she sang in a group with her sisters. They were known as the Toombs Sisters and the ministered to others by traveling to different churches and locations. Her second passion in life was her family. Her last days of communication was telling how much she loved them. She shared with them how she wanted to go to heaven and be with Jesus, but she didn’t want to leave them. She truly was the definition of love. She was always encouraging those around her and would spend hours in prayer for her family and her friends. You always left her presence feeling special and loved. Even during her times of sickness, she would be encouraging others. This example of love will carry on in her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street Port Clinton, Ohio on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 5pm to 8pm. On Friday, September 3, 2021, additional visitation will be held at Victory Center Church of God 1190 East Fairground Street, Marion, Ohio from 11am. until funeral services at 1pm with Rev. Mark Jordan officiating burial will follow at Green Camp Cemetery Marion Ohio. Refreshments will be available during Visitation at the church.
