Alice Kubista

July 6, 1941 — September 5, 2025

Alice Ann Kubista, age 84, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

Born on July 6, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, Alice was the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Krizan) Nemecek. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1959 and went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. Her passion for learning and service led her to pursue a master’s degree from the University of Toledo, which she earned in 1989.

Alice began her nursing career in Oncology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and later continued her calling at St. Charles Hospital, where she retired in 2000. Retirement didn’t slow her down—she continued to give back as a dedicated volunteer at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, offering comfort and care to others in their final days.

Faith was the cornerstone of Alice’s life. She was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Church, attending daily Mass, assisting with funeral services, and actively participating in the Giving Tree Project and other parish ministries.

Alice found joy in tending to her garden filled with flowers and fresh vegetables, reading on her backyard swing, traveling with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Kubista, whom she married in January 1966; her parents; and her brothers Frank, Veno, and Stanley.

Alice is survived by her loving children: Bill (Amanda) Kubista, Jerry (Cheryl) Kubista, Julie (James) Lugabihl, and Andrea (Josh) Henline; grandchildren: Reese, Ryan, Andrew, and Chase Kubista; Robert and Faith Henline; Branden and Brayden Lugabihl. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews; special lifelong friends, Pat Bernard and Gary and Sue Yoder Family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 am in All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, OH. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.

A special thank you to the “Hospice Angels” at the Perrysburg Inpatient Center for their extraordinary care during Alice’s final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic School or the All Saints Church Giving Tree Project—two causes close to Alice’s heart.
