Alice (Kirk) Hemminger, 82, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully at her home early Monday, September 19, 2016. She was born on February 16, 1934, at the family home in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Edward and Lorena (Miller) Kirk. On July 24, 1954, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, Ohio, she married Carl Hemminger and he survives. Alice attended Bowling Green State University and worked as a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where she was active in the Miriam Circle. She also was a member of the Riverview Healthcare Campus Auxiliary, Oak Harbor. Alice enjoyed needlework and playing cards. In addition to her loving husband, Carl, of 62 years, Alice is survived by her children, Bradford (Ann) Hemminger, Beverly (David) Rust, Linda (Robert) Woodall, and Amy (Michael) Marshalko, daughter-in-law, Cindy Hemminger, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, George Welch. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Marvin Hemminger, and sister, Janice Welch. Visitation for Alice will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Locust Point Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions for Alice are suggested to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor or Riverview Healthcare Campus Auxiliary, Oak Harbor.
