Alice M. Baker, 89, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Oregon, Ohio, passed away December 12, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born March 2, 1928 to Peter and Agnes Miller. Alice worked for Libbey-Owens Ford for 32 years and for the Toledo Museum of Art for 25 years. Alice loved doing crossword puzzles, reading, baking, and vacationing in Upper Michigan. She loved to watch baseball and especially loved to cheer on the Detroit Tigers. One of Alice’s favorite roles was being a grandma and a great-grandma. She found great pleasure in baking cookies with her grandchildren and being the best grandma in the world for them. Alice is survived by her children, Hank (Becky) Baker, Kurt (Linda) Baker, Peter (Donna) Baker; daughter-in-law, Mary Baker; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Esther Sours; and lots of loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Burt C. Baker; four sisters; and three brothers. A memorial service will be held for Alice on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. S. Boundary St. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) beginning at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider Promedica Hospice 5855 Monroe St. #201 Sylvania, Ohio 43560. According to Alice’s wishes, her body was donated to science. Alice’s final resting place will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
