Alfredo Lozoya, 56, of Martin, died suddenly Tuesday evening, March 24, 2015, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born August 24, 1958, in Oregon, Ohio, to Julio M. and Rosa (Carver) Lozoya. Alfredo was a 1977 graduate of Genoa Area High School, where he excelled in athletics. He earned 10 varsity letters: 4 in track, 4 in wrestling and 2 in football. Alfredo was a four-year SLL champion in wrestling and twice went to state tournaments. At its inception, Alfredo was elected as one of the first members to the Genoa High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Michigan Wolverines. Alfredo worked as a roofer and was self-employed. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandrea C. Lozoya and grandchild, Hayden Blasingim both of Toledo, father, Julio of Martin, and siblings, Manuela (Scott) Castilleja, Anita Lozoya (David Burchell) both of Toledo, and Jose (Michelle) Lozoya of Curtice, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia McGeorge, mother, Rosa, and brother, Julian Lozoya. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2015. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials for Alfredo to go to the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr. Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551; or Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 98, Genoa, OH 43430.
