Alfred J. Zobler, 94, passed away quietly on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was born on June 1, 1918 in Rossford, Ohio to Alfred J. and Laura (Kraus) Zobler and on February 12, 1945, he married Marcella C. O’Neill who preceded him in death on April 10, 1998. Al was a World War II Veteran of the United States Air Corp. After the war, he worked for as a Milkman for Sealtest Dairy, the Toledo Police Department as a tow truck driver and later retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation Safety Division. Al loved aviation, held a pilot’s license, and enjoyed building and restoring airplanes. He was a former member of St Jude’s Catholic Church and the Rossford Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2322. He is survived by his daughters, Jean A. (John) Kuyoth, Jane E. (James) Haaser and Connie T. (Michael) Hunter; grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Kuyoth, Randy (Melissa) Kuyoth, Jonathan (Kendall) Hunter, Natalie Hunter and Stephanie Hunter as well as 4 great grandchildren. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; daughter, Lynn M. Kurfess; grandson, Jeff Kuyoth; and his sister, Ann Thew Kowalka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10 A.M. in Gesu Church, 2049 Parkside Boulevard Toledo, Ohio 43607 where burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. According to Alfred’s wishes there will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Al’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 N.
