Alfred J. Williams, Sr., age 74, passed away suddenly on Thursday Oct. 1, 2015. The son of Fred and Sophie, he was born March 22, 1941 in Toledo. He was a graduate of Swanton High School where he played football and ran track. He worked for Jeep retiring after 28 years. Alfred had a passion for fishing and owned quite a collection of fishing poles. He was an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals football fan. He was never without his hats, glasses or pipe and will be remembered as a man with a smooth personality and understated sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Sarah; children, Lisa K. Williams-Mack, Alfred J. Williams, Jr., Bryan F. Williams, Eugenia (Floyd) Russell, Dana (Mark) Armstrong; Keith Grant; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Conetta Harkness; sister-in-law, Mollie Harkness; special friends, Ed Turner and Sam Boykin; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rev. Sharon Smith; mother, Bishop C.L. Harkness; son, Tramaine S. Williams and brother, Rev. Eugene Harkness. Friends may visit the family on Thursday October 8, 2015 from 12:00 PM- 1:00 Pm at the Walker Funeral Homes 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday.
