Alfonso Angel

November 20, 1945 — June 7, 2022

Alfonso Angel, 76, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico on November 20, 1945 to Blas Angel Vivanco and Maria Victoria Alvarez.

Alfonso migrated to the United States from Mexico in the Late 60’s to find work and raise his family, and later retired from Chrysler as a Machine Operator. Alfonso was a very loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone. He loved spending time at the homes of each of his children and attending soccer games for his grandson, playing dominoes or a friendly game of poker and tarro with his kids. Given any opportunity, he also loved traveling back to his beloved home in Degollado, where he spent time racing horses, served as a member of the Association of Charros and dedicated time and effort to support the local soccer programs ensuring any child without means had the opportunity to play. He had a big heart and cared for everyone. He will be remembered most for the immense love he had for his children and his many grandchildren, this was a love that brought his entire family together and made him so loved by all, but also for his lively spirit and zest for life, his inability to sit still due to ongoing sense of “ants in his pants” as we often called it, his silly sense of humor and signature dancing skills.

Alfonso is survived by his children, Maria Elena Angel de Aguilar, Alfonso (Roxanne) Angel, Ruben Angel, Veronica (Ronald Accomando) Angel, Angelica (Carlos) Robert, Lila (TJ) Harris, Blas (Isamar) Angel, Alejandro (Marcela) Angel, and Christian Angel; his grandchildren Raul and Francisco Aguilar, Allicia and Pilar Angel, Antonio Montez, Jessica, Ruben and Ava Angel, Alec and Jaden Robert, Olivia and Sofia Harris, Jaylene, Jayvin, Marisa and Amiya Angel, Angelique and Jencarlos Angel Sosa; his great grandchildren Masiyah and Khawi Allen, and Jovany Ignacio Hidalgo-Angel (Nachito); his siblings Ofelia (Moises) Hernandez, Raquel (Ricardo Perfecto) Angel de Sanchez, Esteban (Ana Maria) Angel, Rafael (Diana) Angel, and Jesus (Guillermina) Angel, many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and grandpups Romeo, Star, Ricky, and Luna, whom he also loved very much.

He is predeceased by his parents Blas Angel Vivanco and Maria Victoria Alvarez, his sister Celina Angel de Lopez, his first wife Maria Elena de la Paz de Angel, his son-in-law Walter Aguilar, his grandson Ponchito Angel, and his nephew Pedro Lopez.
