Alex M. Teslow, Jr., age 88, passed away January 12, 2015 at Henderson House in Toledo, Ohio, where he had resided since March 1, 2014. Alex was born Nov. 2, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He joined the U.S. Navy when he was 18 and entered the Pacific Theatre in World War II, serving on the U.S.S. Prometheus. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on May 13, 1946. Alex was employed as an industrial engineer as a private consultant. He retired from O.D.L. in Holland, MI. Alex met his future wife, Eugenia (Karpinski) at a dance. They were married on August 18, 1950 and had seven children, all of whom survive. Their children include: Linda Teslow of Portland, OR, Chris (Tom) Kliegl of Loveland, CO, Ron (Deb) Teslow of Trenton, MI, Susan (Chris) Martin of Waterville, OH, Karen Kanipe of Toledo, OH, Mary (Matt) Kolb of Columbia MD and Michael (Shannon) Teslow of Fort Collins, CO. Alex is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Kliegl, James Teslow, Colin (Ginger) Martin, Julia Martin, Alison (Paul) Ferow, Chelsey and Amy Kanipe, Joshua, Elizabeth, Maria, Therese and Patricia Kolb; three great grandchildren, Kenley Martin, Braxton and Chase Ferow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genie, on August 8, 2008. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff of Henderson House for making Dad feel like family. Also, thanks to Heartland Hospice who helped Dad have a pain-free exit.
