Alberta M. Stahl of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was 87. Alberta was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 8, 1927 to Paul B. and Eva (Willets) Lew. Alberta graduated from Girls Catholic Central High School in Detroit in 1946 where she was the roving photographer for the yearbook. After graduation, she briefly returned to Columbus before moving to Toledo in September 1948 where she worked as a key punch operator at the former Rossford Army Depot and Textileather Corporation. Alberta was a member of the Northwood Church of God for many years, organizing many trips and other activities for seniors. She was also a founding member of the women’s auxiliary of Northwood Volunteer Fire Department #1 and a past president of Golden Eagles. Alberta was an excellent seamstress whose hobbies included crocheting and needlepoint. Over the years, she made hundreds of afghans for family and friends. Alberta and her late husband Orlie were avid campers, enjoying many years of camping throughout the United States. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 46 years, Orlie E. Stahl and sister Dorothy Cunningham. She is survived by daughters Katherine (Terry) Upp, Constance Wright, and Paula (Christopher) Wolfe, all of Toledo, and sons Mike (Katherine) Stahl of Toledo and Orlie (“Butch”) E. (Becky) Stahl of Monclova and sister Dolores Daniels of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She is also survived by grandchildren Robyn Kline, Johnathan Wilkes, Shannon Orozco, Nathan Hayes, Douglas Stahl, Angela Stinson and Alex Wolfe, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, special companion William St. Claire and many friends. Friends will be received in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge from 2-8 Thursday Funeral services will be held at Northwood Church of God, 3375 Curtice Road, Northwood, Ohio at 1 PM on Friday November 7, 2014 where the family will receive friends after 12:00 Noon. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, Ohio. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Walbridge Senior Center 705 N. Main St. Walbridge.
