Alberta Kathryn Seymour

Alberta K. Seymour, 82, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born on June 10, 1941 in San Diego, CA to William A. and Helen K. (Bartlett) Allison. On May 31, 1971 in Clairmont, CA she married Billy Ray Seymour, and he survives. Alberta earned a degree from the American College of Radiology. She worked as a radiological technician for Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH for 25 years, and then furthered her education and became a nuclear medicine technician before retiring in 1997.

Alberta was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where she was a member of the Sarah Circle. She was a Member of the Ottawa County Senior Center, the Nuclear Advisory Committee for the State of Ohio, Al-Anon, where she served as treasurer and had many opportunities to give a lead. She was the founding director of Original Oak Harbor Lights Baton Corps in Oak Harbor. She enjoyed going to the “Lunch Bunch” at Magruder Hospital for retirees, was active in the Ottawa County Relay for Life for cancer research, and loved to travel and see the ocean. Alberta collected colored glass, crystals, and was known by many for her decorated tree stump in front of her house. She also loved to go to auctions and tag sales whenever she could. The morning calls every day with her husband and daughter will be greatly missed.

In addition to her loving husband of 52 years, Billy Ray, she is survived by her son, Doug (Cindy) Seymour; daughter, Kathryn “K.C.” (Jeff Bast) Seaman; son, Dean (Phillip Colavito) Seymour; grandchildren, Jon (Kaitlin) Seymour, D.J.(Jay) Haycox, Olivia Haycox, and Jacob Seaman; great-grandchildren, Jace Seymour, August Haycox, and Kyree Brock; sister, Bonnie (Bill) Tobalske; brother, Paul (Linda) Humphrey; brothers-in-law, Fritz Seay and Barry Kistler; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Kistler and Ginger Seay; and Step-Son, Billy Seymour.

Memorial services for Alberta will be conducted 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor with a bereavement luncheon to follow at the church. Memorial contributions in memory of Alberta may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor and any flowers the day of the funeral may be sent there.
