Alan "Bo" Robinson

Alan “Bo” Robinson, age 74, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2023. Alan was born to his late parents, Walter and Margaret (Hill) Robinson, in Belfast, Northern Ireland on October 9, 1948, before later immigrating to America. He attended Lockport High School in New York where he graduated, only to further his academic career at the University of Toledo where he played on the men’s soccer team. He married his then-wife, Carolyn, on December 3, 1977, raising their three children together.

After college, Alan entered the workforce where he worked many different jobs throughout his career. He started off working on freighters on the Great Lakes, later working extensively in sales for over 40 years. He was a reliable hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family.

Lovingly known by his friends as “Bo”, Alan was gifted at maintaining meaningful lifelong friendships and was very loved by those who were close to him. He was an avid storyteller with a quiet soul. More so than anything, Alan enjoyed preparing grand meals for his family and friends. Bo was a huge Buffalo Bill’s fan and was reliably found with a Manhattan when it came time to have a drink (or a Loma Linda’s margarita if he was out with the guys). His presence will be missed on the golf course where he played with his friends every Wednesday, as well as on their annual summer golf trip. He will be incredibly missed by all his family and friends.

Bo is survived by his children, Kerry (Matt) Koster, Kelly (Eric) Blevins, Anthony (Jaclyn) Robinson; sister, Lorna “Lori” Schumacher; grandchildren, Matty, Maggie, Devyn, Wyatt, Liam, Dylan and cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ivan Robinson; and wife of 30 years, Carolyn Robinson.

Friends are welcome to visit at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Ave, Toledo, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 1:30-5 p.m. Bo’s funeral service will follow immediately at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
