Alan Magsig

Alan Magsig, 59, of Perrysburg, was called home to our Heavenly Father on August 4th, 2026. He was born in Oregon, OH to Linda and Russell Magsig. He grew up in Perrysburg and graduated from Perrysburg High School.

Alan had a brilliant mechanical mind and enjoyed a successful career in the steel mill and industrial maintenance field. He was employed at Gerdau Steel for many years, Meldrum Mechanical Services and most recently Kiemle-Hankins. He valued friendships he built with coworkers and earned the respect of everyone around him for his strong work ethic, reliability and character.

While Alan enjoyed traveling, at heart he was a true homebody. His happy place was in his garage tinkering with projects, tackling home improvements, or watching anything sci-fi. He was proud of his vast tool collection and was capable of building, fixing, or taking apart just about anything. Whether someone needed practical advice or helping hand, Alan was your guy.

Alan was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast his entire life. It was his hobby and his recreation. He loved the freedom of the open road as much as he enjoyed working on his bike, and there was almost always a new component upgrade underway. One of his favorite trips was going to the 250th Harley Davidson Anniversary bash in Milwaukee with his wife, Lynn, and a group of friends.

Alan was a gentleman, but also a man's man in that he was proud of his big Ram truck and motorcycle, enjoyed Jack Daniels, an occasional cigar, and watched Nascar. Everyone who met Alan liked him. He was authentic, kind, witty and grounded in his faith. He was a great listener with an easy-going nature that made him a crowd favorite and will be missed by many.

The most important thing in Alan's life was his best friend and wife, Lynn. Alan knew it was destiny when they met at his favorite place to eat, Fricker's, in 2006. They tied the knot in a simple, intimate ceremony in Perrysburg on December, 19th 2014. Together Alan and Lynn, AKA Alynn, had a remarkable 20 years of fun, love and laughter.

Alan was a family man and treasured every moment spent with those he loved. His warmth, loyalty and sense of humor made him the kind of husband, father, grandfather, and brother that family members could always count on. Alan knew how to live life. His love was infectious, and he inspired everyone around him to do the same.

He is survived by the love of his life, Lynn; daughters: Rebecca Magsig and Gabrielle Magsig; stepdaughter, Geri (Chase) Monaghan; siblings, Shari Bail (Tim) and brother, Chris Magsig; grand-children, Mason, Helena, Clara (Rebecca), Josie (Gabrielle), Axcin and Marlie (Geri and Chase), and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is reunited in Heaven with his mother Linda (Parsil) Magsig, Stepfather, Woody McIntyre, stepson Stan Siudzinski and nephew Michael Bail.

The Celebration of Alan Magsig's life will be held on August 22nd from 12-5pm at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg.
