Aileen M. Thompson

Aileen M. Thompson, 90, of Bedford, OH, and formerly of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Monday, December 30, 2012 at Mary Mount Hospital, Garfield Heights, OH. Aileen was born on May 04, 1922 in Port Clinton, OH, the daughter of John and Marie Leech Steager. Aileen worked at the Hungry Centers in Bedford for almost 30 years and during WWI she worked at the Erie Proving grounds. She lived in Maple Heights over 50 years and spent summers in Manitoulin Island, Canada. Aileen loved making Christmas ornaments, collecting antiques, nature and feeding the birds. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Former Husband: Gene Thompson and Niece: Gail Larry Money. Aileen was preceded in death by her parents.. A service for family friends, will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, January 03, 2012 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St. Port Clinton. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial donations in memory of Aileen may be given to Lutheran Home of Mercy.
