Agnes Estes Padgett, of Waterville, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024. She was born August 25, 1932, in Dickson, Tennessee, to her late parents, Porter and Allie Mamie (Estes) Gray and raised on the family farm. At age 18, she moved to Toledo and soon met her future husband, William “Bill” C. Padgett. They married on December 20, 1950, in Monroe, Michigan and were happily devoted to each other until his passing in 2001.
Together, Agnes and Bill founded Riverton Interiors and built many homes in the Waterville and Whitehouse areas. In 1971, they moved to Florida where they started Pass Industries where they manufactured building materials with retail stores in Bradenton and Port Charlotte. Bill passed away in Florida in 2002 and Agnes soon moved back to Toledo to be with family. Agnes genuinely loved decorating homes and everything that was involved with it. In her spare time, she often spent time with her family and friends whom she loved to host and entertain. She was a memorable woman who will leave an impact on those who knew her, and she will be incredibly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sandra (Bill) Stanish; grandchildren, Tracey (Mike) Hazelbaker, Shawn Stanish, Monica (Jeremy) Givens; great-grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Hazelbaker, Jacob and Allyson Givens, Noah, and Zoe Stanish; sisters, Priscilla Kincaid, Peggy Hudson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Inez Hyndman; brother, Ronnie Gray; and beloved dog, Lisa.
