Agnes Rita Hermes

Agnes Rita Hermes, 93, of Sandusky and formerly of Port Clinton, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Agnes was born October 25, 1920 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of Nettie (Steinberger) and Robert Baumann. On September 2, 1946, in Fremont, she married Peter C. Hermes and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1971. Agnes was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, the Altar Rosary Society, and had served as a sacristan. She retired in 1993 from the WR Thomas Store. She is survived by her loving daughter, Roseanne (Jeffrey) Langan of Wareham, MA, Grandchildren: Kelly (Jon) Petitt of Somerville, MA, Caitlin Langan of Plymouth Meeting, PA and Michael Langan of Seattle, WA. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: David “Skip” Hermes, sisters: Angela Widman and Catherine Logsdon, brothers: Raymond and William Baumann. Friends may call from 4-6PM, Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton. Prayers will be recited at 10:00am, Friday, September 19, 2014 at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
