Adele K. Shelton

Adele K. Shelton, 97, died peacefully on August 19, 2014. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio July 1, 1917 to Carl Herbert Klaustermeyer and Helen Burke Klaustermeyer. Adele graduated from Laurel School (1935) and The College of Wooster (1939). She taught swimming, lifesaving, CPR and fitness classes for West Toledo YMCA and Red Cross, and was an active Girl Scout volunteer. Adele served for many years as leader of the Naturalist Camera Club of Toledo. Her interest in nature photography took her to all continents except Antarctica. Preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, she is survived by her loving children, Doug Shelton and Dale (Robert) Burnett, grandchildren Alison (Larry) Hess, Rob Burnett (Kelly Clarson), Rob LaRock and Michelle LaRock. She had one great grandson, Larry Hess and great granddaughters Morgan LaRock and Amelia Jacobs. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, August 24 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation to the National Center for Nature Photography, 10001 W. Central, Berkey, OH 43504, or a charity of the donors choice.
