Adelaide Louise Desana

DESANA Adelaide L. Adelaide L. DeSana, 97, of Toledo, died Friday, November 2, 2007, at Kingston Care Center. Adelaide was born in Toledo to Carl and Margaret Schmuhl and graduated from Libbey High School before marrying William J. DeSana and raising her family. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. Adelaide loved gardening and was a member of local gardening clubs through the years. She also enjoyed golf and bridge. She was also a loyal and devoted Detroit Tiger fan who did not miss watching many games. Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband, William J. DeSana, granddaughter, Michele Avinger, sister, Margaret Oliver, and brothers, Alvin and Harold Schmuhl. She is survived by her son, Bill DeSana Judy of Sylvania; granddaughter, Lisa Rioux Joe of Sylvania; brother, Carl Schmuhl Alma of Bryan; and grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Zachary, Gabriel and Maxim Rioux, and Alex, Jordan and Madison Avinger. Visitation will take place on Monday from 10AM until the time of the funeral ceremony at 12 noon at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. Pastors William Paul and Howard Abts will officiate. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
