Adam Gideon (Skip) Spieker III passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the age of 70, in Toledo, OH. Skip was a devoted and loving father and is survived by his sons Adam (Emily) and Alex (Brooke) Spieker, and his daughter Gretchen (Bill) Welch, along with five grandchildren. Skip was the son of the late Adam Gideon Spieker Jr. and Virginia Hayward Spieker. He was preceded in death by his sister Debbie (Matt) Spieker Klein and is survived by siblings Susan (Kevin) Spieker Kenney, Mary Ann Spieker Milne and Henry (Julie) J. Spieker. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Milne.
Skip graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School and the University of Toledo. He was an accomplished golfer and started his successful business career as a CPA at Sheller-Globe Corporation. Skip then joined the Henry J. Spieker Company and helped develop and build several commercial and residential projects including the PNC Bank building at Franklin Park, Wolf Creek housing development, and several apartment projects. He started Spieker Realty that specialized in property management and building residential homes.
Family and friends are invited to join the Spieker family for a memorial visitation from 2-4 pm on Saturday February 15 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue where a memorial service will follow at 4 pm.
