Adam A Gwozdz

Adam A. Gwozdz, 96, of Perrysburg, OH and formerly of Rossford, OH died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Rossford, OH on September 9, 1916 to Simon and Mary (Lotycz) Gwozdz and was married on December 2, 1939 to Helen Szalajka who preceded him in death on May 25, 2006. Adam had worked as a lifelong pipefitter for UA Local 50. He was an all-around handy man and built his own home. He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia (Emil) Hiris of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Victor, Monica, Dr. Eric (Dr. Dawn Norris) Hiris; great-grandson, Zachary Hiris; sister, Stella Peatee. Adam was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen; daughters, Barbara Gwozdz and Evelyn Crooks; grandson, Donald Parks; sisters, Sophie Stracke, Catherine Pawluk, and Francis Kandik; brothers, Walter, Frank, Bruno, Valerian, and Chester Gwozdz. Private graveside services were held at Fort Meigs Cemetery on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
