Ada N. Peters, 99, of Oak Harbor, passed away Saturday morning, November 1, 2014, at Otterbein-North Shore, Lakeside, Ohio. She was born December 14, 1914, in Carroll Township to the late Milton and Mary (Humphrey) Apling. On November 30, 1933, she married John L. Peters and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1982. Mrs. Peters was a homemaker and had worked at Standard Products during WWII and at Moore Orchards. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Paul) Shew of Franklin, MA, son, Dennis (Patricia) Peters of Oak Harbor, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and sister, Norma Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant siblings, Emerson and Mary, sister, Wilma Fillmore and brothers, Wilson, Ervin and Albert Apling. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Paul United Church of Christ at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Interment will follow in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor; Otterbein-North Shore or Stein Hospice.
