Aaron Lee Grizaniuk, 47, of Toledo, Ohio passed away in the early hours of Monday, June 1, 2026. Aaron was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on September 30, 1978, to Pat and Tony Grizaniuk. Aaron's valiant battle is but a mere small portion of his great and honorable life. We had no doubt he would stand up like the giant he was and lean on his faith for strength. Aaron had a lifelong love for soccer that began early in his childhood and was carried on by his three sons. He attended Sylvania Northview High School '97 and graduated from the University of Toledo. He forged an honorable career as he grew in leadership and discernment at the Diocese of Toledo.
He founded Patron Saints Brewery in 2016 as his life motto was, "Impact lives in a positive manner whether they know it or not." He lived a noble life in which he set the standard high. His sense of humor, fun, and wit is simply irreplaceable. He was a member of Christ the King Parish and a proud St. John's Jesuit father.
Aaron married Lisa (Huebner) Grizaniuk in 2002, and they had a beautiful life together. His family always came first. He loved them fiercely. He spent every minute he could watching his three sons' games and grew to enjoy lacrosse through them. He was a great dad who cherished his family and good friends. His love and support will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to know him.
He leaves behind a legacy of connections made with conviction and respect that made him a pillar of his community. His wife Lisa will forever mourn his passing along with their three sons Anatoly, Dominic and George. He is survived by his parents Tony and Pat Grizaniuk, sister Shannon (Justin) Pack, father-in-law Steven Huebner, mother-in-law Elizabeth Huebner, sisters-in-law Andrea (Chris) Hirsch, and Allison (Rob) Carpenter, and beloved nieces and nephews: Danika, Jaxon, Eric, Andrew, Abigail, Rosie, Archie and Teddy. The names of extended family and friends would be endless. Aaron lived for every single minute spent with them. If you find yourself on his list, please know we all mourn this great loss together.
Griz would want us all to cheer with a pint or two in his honor. He was so grateful for all of the physicians, nurses, greeters, and parking valets who offered him one more slice of life each day. If you knew Griz, he knew you.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 4-7 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, with recitation of the rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 4 at 10:30 am at Christ the King Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. John's Jesuit High School and Academy. He very much lived a life of brewing and gathering and lifting others up.
