Aaron, affectionately known as 'PA', peacefully passed over to his next spiritual journey on, Monday, October 17, 2016, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, OH. He was born on December 28, 1927, with twin Allen, to Edward and Anna Black in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania with 2 older adoring sisters Betty and Mary. He ran track and performed minstrels in high school. He served in the Navy on board the U.S.S Wisconsin from 1945-1947. He and Allen graduated from Penn State University. His first job with Sylvania Corporation took him to Buffalo New York, where he raised his family with Joan Stevens Black. Later he taught science at Amsdell junior high in Hamburg New York. After retirement he moved to Perrysburg Ohio to be close to his son and family. Recently, he enjoyed living independently at Swan Creek retirement center. Aaron endured many losses through his plentiful years. The loss of a daughter, Judy, 15 and the loss of 2 grandchildren Ryan, 10 and Lauren, 7 were most heartfelt. Through these moments he would attempt to capture a rainbow or send a ray of sunshine with his keen sense of humor. Most recently he turned his remaining energies providing cinematic entertainment at Swan Creek . There, he also attempted to bring joy to 'Table 6' the 'S.O.B's', and all of his final community. Aaron and Allen were famous for tooling around, fish fries and road trips to obscure locations near and far. He was fond of Kazoos, clowns, classical music, Penn State football and calling others quirky nicknames. He is survived by his son, Gregory Allen Black D.P.M. (Marianne) of Perrysburg, OH, granddaughters: Amelia (Bryan) Ramsey, Grace and Annalise Black all of Charlotte, NC, his twin brother Allen, sister Betty and many nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania who will also mourn his passing. Along with his humor, he had an honest and irascible spirit- his absence from our lives will cast a long shadow. He will be interred at Oak Lawn cemetery in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania with family services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Symphony or American Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133).
