Wanda Teresa Beczynski, age 86, of Toledo, died at 3:25 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Lakes of Sylvania. She was born October 12, 1935, in Poland to the late Bronistaw and Jenny Dymczyk. The family moved from Poland to the United States in 1946 when Wanda was 11 years old. She went to St. Adalbert’s School and then Central Catholic High School. Wanda married Donald Beczynski in 1954 and they shared more than 67 beautiful years of marriage. Wanda enjoyed crocheting and made each of her many children and grandchildren their own crocheted blanket. She also liked going to Bingo and playing card games, especially 31 (with quarters!), and had a healthy addiction to QVC which led to much gift giving. She shared countless Christmas ornaments with her grandchildren and was known for her amazing homemade perogies and crepes, which were affectionately referred to as “Busia Pancakes”. Family was always first and she loved participating in the family activities and traditions, sharing her caring nature with those she loved. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Donald; children, Vicky (Steven) Conover, Patti Fischer, Mary (Brett) Lasko, Donna (Joe) Weiser, Ed (Michelle) Beczynski, Jenny Beczynski, Julie (Franc) Bialecki, and Kathy (Rob) Houck; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and brother, Joseph Dymczyk. Wanda was preceded in death by grandchildren, Josh and Jennifer. Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue (west of Corey Road) where a sharing of memories and closing prayers will begin at 6:45 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street, Toledo, OH 43615. Burial will be at Lake Township Cemetery near Walbridge. The family would like to extend a special thank you to ProMedica Hospice, especially Lindsey, Kristina, and Steve, for their tender and compassionate care of Wanda.
