Velma A. Maluso, age 87, of Maumee, OH formerly of Austintown, OH, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Heartland of Waterville. Velma was born on February 22, 1925 in East Palestine, Ohio to Amon and Grace Chaplow Pinkerton. During WWII, Velma worked as a Rosie the Riveter at U.S Steel in Youngstown. She was a two time breast cancer survivor and a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. Velma enjoyed volunteering at church and in the community. She is survived by her children, Sam Pamela, Richard Betsy, Patrick Sharon, Joseph Bernadette, Tina, and Bob Sandy; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and sister, Marge Scofield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; great-grandson, Jack Leonardo; brothers, Frank, Earl, Bill, Jack, Harold and sister, Evelyn Behnke. Friends and family may visit on Friday, November 2nd, 2012 from 1pm until the time of service which will be 3:30 pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee.
