Tonya Hahn (Apel) passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Born on September 14, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, to Victor and Pearl (Fox) Apel, Tony spent most of her life residing in Michigan, including Ida, Monroe, and Carleton. She was a strong-willed woman with a deep passion for travel and music. Tony enjoyed exploring the world and sharing her adventures from many places such as Germany, Switzerland, and Hawaii, among others. She also cherished attending local band performances, always ready to dance the night away.
Tony is survived by her son, Jay (Debby) Hahn, and daughter, Jenny (Anthony) Lukas, along with her grandchildren Joshua Hahn, MaKenzie Springer, Desiree (Reyes) Rodriguez, Andrew Lukas, and Sabrina Hahn. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Ellyot, Mayzie Sue, Scarlett, and Maya. Tony was the matriarch of her family, ensuring they spent quality time together and always reminding them to be grateful for the blessings in their lives. She adored her small yet close-knit family, welcoming all into her home and heart, considering many friends as family. Tony will be remembered for her vibrant personality, adventurous spirit, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
Her final resting place will be at Toledo Memorial Park alongside her parents, where a small private service will be held by her family. Tony was a proud and lifelong leader of the Girl Scouts of America. Memorial contributions in Tony's honor may be made to the Girl Scouts of America.
