Timothy Tim Fick

November 7, 1973 — June 21, 2018

Timothy Tim Fick, 44, of Port Clinton died unexpectedly June 21, 2018 at his home in Port Clinton. He was born November 7, 1973 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. Tim is survived by his son Alexander Fick, currently stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. His brother Scott (Shari) Fick, sister Melinda (Chad) Stacy, and father Burlyn Fick, all of Port Clinton. His nieces Mindy Fick of Port Clinton, Stephanie (Billy) Runyon of Gibsonburg, Jordan Stacy of Oak Harbor, and Dylan Stacy of Port Clinton. Great nephews Ethan and Owen Runyon and Braxton Stacy and great-niece Addyson Runyon. He was preceded in death by his mother Judy Fick. Tim was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be on the water or in the woods any chance he got. He was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan attending many games throughout the years. Tim was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones playing poker, corn-hole, and attending family parties. He was known for his passion of playing pool and coaching others. Tim left us unexpectedly by taking his own life. The family wants to raise awareness on the issues of depression and addiction. What started with a prescription for pills lead to a greater need for stronger drugs; with the epidemic in Northwest Ohio, drugs were easily accessible. Not only does this change the psychological thoughts in a person, but it impacts their physical appearance and family life. Over the past couple of years, Tim battled with the demons of addiction and it cost him his job of many years as well as quality time with his family. Most recently, Tim found himself on the wrong side of the law which led to him working to get clean. In the process of these changes, dark clouds crept in and depression took over. The family lost a great man to a very real mental illness. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-6:00PM, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH.
