Thomas D. Renard

Thomas D. Renard, age 76, of Waterville, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 03, 2011 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 15, 1934 in Toledo to Joseph and Edna Cox Renard. Tom served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the IBEW Local 8 as an electrician for over 40 years, retiring in 1997. A parishioner of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, Tom was active in Christ Renews His Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid fisherman, Tom was a member of the Merickel-Farley Trout Club. He enjoyed working in his yard, and was an Ohio State Buckeye and Toledo Rocket fan. Tom was also a member of the Local 8 Retirees. Tom was a very loving man, he was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He gave the gift of family and taught loyalty and honor to his loved ones. Tom developed and educated his family a true faith in God. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann Huss Renard; children, Michael Renard, Denise Don Phillips, Jeff Janine Renard, Carole Brad Hull and Cheryl David Bourland; grandchildren, Andy, Kelly, Jason, Jaime, Lauren, Nicole, Krista and David; great grandchildren, Abby and Alex and sister, Madeline Renard. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Renard. Family and friends may visit Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin Monday, March 7, 2011 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Military committal services will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
