Sylvester Gene Swiatecki

Sylvester Eugene Gene Swiatecki went to be with his blessed Lord on March 31, 2008 at the age of 80. He was born May 11, 1927. Gene was a member of Westgate Chapel where he worked up until a week before his death. Gene also worked for the Toledo Public Schools for 27 years. Before that, Gene worked as a press operator for Ohio Lithograph Company. Gene also was a veteran of the Army and Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He loved working, gardening, and spending time with his very dear friends and his grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; parents, Frank and Stella Swiatecki; brothers, Frank, Raymond, and Joseph; and sisters, Louise Lykowski and Helen Klosinski. Gene is survived by his wonderful and devoted wife of 52 years, Josephine Jo; daughter, Karen Seckinger; grandsons, Justin JT and Ethan Jeffrey; and sister, Virginia Howard. The family will receive visitors at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Wednesday, April 2, from 2 to 8 PM. with the funeral to be held at Westgate Chapel, 2500 Wilford Dr., on Thursday, April 3, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions go to Westgate Chapels Missions Program or Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission.
