Suzanne Burdo

October 5, 1932 — July 22, 2018

Suzanne (Baldwin) Burdo passed to heaven on July 22nd, 2018 at the Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee, OH. Sue was born October 5, 1932 to Lowell and Mary Baldwin and was a lifetime resident of Maumee, OH, graduating from Maumee High School in the class of 1950. Even in her school days she was known to her classmates as a gifted vocalist who participated in choir and musicals. After her marriage to Frederic Burdo in December of 1951, Sue continued her vocal training and participated for many years in her church choir at Maumee United Methodist Church, sang for many weddings and funerals in the area, and was a member for a number of years of the Toledo Symphony Chorale. Although Sue enjoyed music and singing, she would tell others that she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She became a consummate pie baker and enjoyed hosting family meals in her home. Sue and husband Fred enjoyed traveling the country and going overseas during their 60 years of marriage, and she never tired of spending time with family and friends. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Alice Klammer and Mary Eckenrode, brother Steven Baldwin, husband Frederic Burdo and son Matthew Burdo. She is survived by daughters Claudia (Daniel) Stein, Rebecca (Gary) Davenport, Julie (David) Lenart and son, Peter (Jeanette) Burdo. Also surviving are sister Linette (Garth) Richard, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the amazing caregivers of Level II at the Elizabeth Scott Community and Dr. Allen Schwisow. Visitation will be 3-8 pm on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett Street, Maumee Ohio. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee. Memorials contributions may be made to Maumee United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio.
