Stuart K. Remley, M.D. Stuart K. Remley, 86, of Sylvania Township, passed away on Thursday, March 17, at the Lake Park Comfort Care Center. He was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Hummelstown, PA. Stuart was an endocrinologist in the Toledo area since 1967. He graduated from Hummelstown High School in 1942. From 1943-46, he served in the U.S. Army as a Surgical Technician, at Foster and 181st General Hospitals. He served 10 months in India-Burma. His decorations and citations include: the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After his honorable discharge, he enrolled in Lebanon Valley College, earning a bachelors degree in pre-med studies in three years. He was a member of the Phi Rho Sigma Medical Society. He attended Jefferson Medical College and was a member of the Kappa Beta Phi fraternity, graduating in 1953. He served his internship at York Hospital in York, Pa. from 1953-54. He was a family practitioner in Glen Rock, Pa. from 1955-62. He pursued a sub-specialty in endocrinology in Baltimore, Md., serving his residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital. He was granted a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He moved his wife and two children to Toledo in 1967, where he began his private practice in internal medicine and endocrinology, retiring in 1990. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Medical College of Ohio and a Staff Physician for Owens Corning Fiberglas during the course of his practice. He was a member of the American College of Physicians; the Lucas County and Ohio Medical Associations; the Academy of Medicine of Toledo and Lucas County; China-Burma-India Veterans Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, M. June; son, Stuart Eric Staci; grandsons, Eric David and Jason Stuart; and daughter, June Maria. Services will be private.
