Ronald G. Traver, 85, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on August 29, 2022. He was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on August 7, 1937, the son of Cecil R. and Jessie M. (Kurfis) Traver. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957 with assignments on the battleship USS New Jersey.
Ron settled down with Darlene Pressley in 1976, when they purchased and started renovations on what would become their forever home. After 33 years together, they decided to secretly get married. Together, they shared 46 years of joy and happiness. Ron worked for GM Powertrain/Hydromatic, in Toledo, for over 33 years, retiring in 1995.
Ron was a member of the American Legion Post #324, Genoa and the U.A.W. Local 14, Toledo. He was a fan of American cars, especially his El Camino. He and Darlene were avid Toledo Mud Hens fans and for many years, season ticket holders. They also enjoyed attending Cleveland Indians games.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Darlene M. (Sahr) Pressley-Traver, whom he married on March 6, 2009, in Port Clinton, Ohio, his children, Dawn (Tom) VanNess, Terry (Gina) Traver, Kristine (Dean) Kinsloe, Timothy (Ruthann) Traver, step children, Dale (Jennifer) Pressley, Mark (Debbie) Pressley, and Chad (Tina) Pressley, many grand and great-grandchildren, brother, Craig (Sharon) Traver, and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Traver. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Traver.
