Robert Lee Montgomery

Robert Lee Montgomery, 79 of Perrysburg, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Mercy St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was born March 11, 1943 to Rubin and Mary (Harlow) Montgomery in Piketon, Ohio. Following his graduation from Piketon High School in 1961, Robert would work in construction and then serve in the United States Army for two years. While at an A & W drive-through in 1968, Robert would meet his future wife Laura, with the help of his red 1967 Chevelle to start the conversation. They would marry on January 25, 1969.

No one was a stranger to Robert, he knew someone everywhere he went. He was a man of many passions, including golfing, especially in Myrtle Beach, and watching Cleveland sports. Upon retiring from 26 years working for Ford Motor Company in Lorain, Ohio, Robert started his own expediting business, which provided he and his wife the opportunity to travel all over the country for thirteen years.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Laura (Walker) Montgomery; children Robert Montgomery Jr. and Tammy (Jason Robie) Montgomery; grandchildren Jessica and Zachary Robie, Alyssa (Alex) Wright, and Brandon (Ashley) Montgomery; great-grandchildren Vera Wright and Leo and Gavin Montgomery; sisters Linda and Rosemary Montgomery and Patricia Sloas; brothers William, David, Edward, and Larry Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Russel and Kenneth Montgomery.

Friends will be received Monday, January 23, 2023 from 4-6 P.M. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home (222 E. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH 43551). A funeral service will follow immediately at 6 P.M.
