Bob no longer has to imagine what heaven is like. He passed away on December 31, 2018 surrounded by his family at the age of 95 years. Bob was born December 14, 1923 to the late Herman and Augusta Specht in Bowling Green, OH. He was raised on the family farm in Gibsonburg until graduating from Gibsonburg High School in 1942. Upon graduation, Bob moved to Toledo, where he owned a Sunoco Gas Station (at the corner of Maplewood and Monroe). In 1953, Bob went to work for Ed Schmidt Pontiac, starting in sales, eventually working his way to General Manager. Upon retirement, he continued to work part-time well into his eighties. Bob was a proud member of the Maumee River Yacht Club and served as Commodore in 1976. Bob was a man who valued honesty and a strong work ethic. When Bob wasnt working or spending time with his family, he enjoyed golfing, walking, and riding his bicycle. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie Specht; children, Konni Bostleman, Heather Kandi (Mark) Fischer; step-children, Barbara (Joe) Porter, Marianne (Steve) Blick, Gary (Sue) Bucher, Russ (Mary) Bucher. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richard Bostleman and 6 siblings. Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Rd., Toledo on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2:00-5:00pm. Visitation will continue Monday, January 7 at Westgate Chapel, 2500 Wilford Dr., Toledo from 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
