Rita M. Mazurek

Rita M.(Robie) Mazurek, age 88 of Rossford, OH passed away on Friday, January 4, 2018. She was born on March 5, 1930, in Erie PA to Adam and Alice Robie. Rita spent her life in education and retired from the Toledo Public Schools after touching countless lives along the way. It was teaching that led her to the love of her life. Rita had been teaching children of soldiers overseas. Ted saw her photo in the paper telling of her endeavors and that led to a 43 year marriage, two children and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Rita loved to travel, especially to the Outer Banks, NC with her family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and crewel work. Rita is survived by her two children, Meghan (Terry) Russell of Bowling Green and Michael Mazurek of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Justin and Kayla Russell and Olivia Mazurek; sisters, Joan Robie of Detroit, Paula Robie of Toledo, and retired Justice Alice Robie Resnick of Ottawa Hills. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; and grandson, Adam Michael Mazurek. Family and friends may visit at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd., Rossford, Ohio 43460 in the church narthex on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow in the church. Interment will take place in St. Rose Cemetery following the Mass. Memorial contributions may be directed to the All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home.
