Richard S Cheatham

Richard Whitie Dick Cheatham age 86 of Toledo passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born December 17, 1924 in Harbor View, Ohio to John and Ara Cheatham. He was employed at the former Autolite, then went to work at the former Woolson Spice where he met his wife, Jeanette and then retired from the former Toledo Pressed Steel. Whitie loved to fish and play cards at his summer cottage in Hillsdale, Michigan. He also loved to sing and entertain. Whitie was preceded in death by brothers Allen, Claude and John; and sisters Juanita, Betty and Virginia. Surviving is his loving and caring wife of 50 years, Jeanette; children Dickie Jim, Peggy Ann, Christina Ron, Kathie Jim, Michael Cheryl and Renee Bill; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-law. Friends will be received Tuesday from 12-8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey. Visitation will continue after 10 AM on Wednesday in Messiah Lutheran Church, 4703 Summit St. Toledo, Ohio 43611 where funeral services will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo for their care of Whitie.
