Patricia A. Swartz passed away peacefully on February 24, 2022, at Genacross at Wolf Creek in Holland, OH. Patricia suffered a stroke on Mar. 29, 2017 & spent her post stroke life at Genacross living the best life possible, with her loving daughters Barb, Ann and other children when in town doing the best they could to give her a fulfilling and comfortable life while caring for her. She loved painting classes, coloring, playing games, and when Covid hit, she became a voracious reader and loved doing word searches. Patricia endured those years with a grace and dignity that radiated to the staff there. She was loved by those caring for her and Patricia always had a kind & gracious “Thank You” for those who took care of her. She was known for her trendsetting sunglasses and her wave when someone was leaving. She was known to blow a lot of kisses of love as well, to those she knew and loved.
Patricia graduated from Central Catholic High School and started her career as a telephone operator while she courted the love of her life, Donald Swartz who served in the Korean War. Once Donald returned from service, they were married on April 25, 1953. Over the span of the next 11 years, their nest had grown to 7 children. Patricia was a stay-at-home mom which kept her very busy.
Patricia was very active in the Catholic Church as a lector and choir member. She loved to sing and to read. She also served as a Eucharistic minister. She was a long-time member of the former St. Jude Parish , and then became active at Little Flower Parish. Patricia was also a long-time member of the Salesians as well.
The widow of Donald Swartz she was also preceded in death by son, Thomas; 2 grandchildren, her parents; and a brother and sister. Patricia is survived by her children Carol (Ken) Aerni, Donna Cheney, Barb Swartz, Ann (Jeff) Biblewski, Tim Swartz, and Jim Swartz.
