Patricia Ann "Patty" Hall

Patricia Ann “Patty” Hall, 73, Of Catawba Island, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her home on August 28, 2021. She was born December 11, 1947 In Detroit, Michigan, only daughter of Burch C. and Helen Gray (Smith) Williams. In the afternoon of September 9, 1972, at the Lakeside Methodist Church, she married William C. Hall, with whom she had two children. Patty’s first two years of formal education began in a one room schoolhouse, grades 1-6, in China Township, Michigan. In 1957, her family moved to Lakeside, Ohio, and for the next four years, she was living next door to her future husband, before the family relocated within Lakeside. She graduated from Lakeside High School with the Class of ’66. She then attended an art institute in Cleveland for two years. Several of her paintings and sketches were given recognition at the Lakeside Art Shows. She was an active member of the United States Power Squadrons and was certified as Pilot. She served two years as Secretary for the Port Clinton Squadron and for ten years on the District level, she designed, collated and published the District Rosters, and in 2019, Patty was awarded her Life Membership. She had a love for the water; boating, fishing and scuba diving. At the age of 14 in an authorized swim, she swam from the Lakeside Dock to the Marblehead Lighthouse. Through the summers during high school years, Patty was a Lifeguard and gave swimming lessons at Marine City. After she and her husband located to Catawba Island and having a pond dug, Patty shared it with the many yellow Labrador Retrievers she sported over the next 40 years. Patty worked 30 years at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky retiring in 2000 where she held several clerical positions during that time. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tara Renee’ Smith of East Greenville, PA., and V. Hydie (Will) Malone of Martinsville, IN.; grandchildren, Nevin, Kaitlyn, and Zadian; Brother, John H. Williams of Fremont, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and a brother, C. Ray Williams. Visitation will be Friday, September 3, from 5pm to 8pm at the Gerner, Wolf & Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton. Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 4, at 11am.; Burial will follow at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
