Patricia Ann Beard

Patricia Ann Beard, age 88, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023. She was born August 12, 1935, in Toledo, OH to Howard and Barbara (Nagy) Hitchcock. Patricia grew up the second oldest of four close-knit sisters and graduated from Waite High School. She worked at Tiedtke’s Department Store and famously posed with the store’s 2-ton “Christmas Cheese.”

Patricia had a fondness for antiques and loved attending estate sales hunting for treasure. She was blessed with a green thumb and took pride in her flourishing garden every summer. Patricia will be remembered for always being a kind and helpful neighbor. She was a long-time parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; first husband, Stanley Yaffe; and sisters, Carole Davis and Sharon Shingledecker. Patricia is survived by her husband of 25 years, Thomas Beard; sister, Sally (Chuck) Hall; children, Barbra Taffe, David Yaffe (Patty Wetli), and Ellen Yaffe; grandson, Tyler Roman; stepchildren, Tamarie Mor, Timothy Beard and James Beard; step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit Monday, October 23, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. The Funeral Mass will follow in the church at 10:30 a.m.
