Nancy L. Warner age 81 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Bellevue, OH on September 7, 1934 to Earl and Eva (Sommers) Kern. She graduated from Bellevue High School and Fremont Beauty School. Nancy was a licensed cosmetologist and manager. She owned and operated her own salon in Willard, OH. She then accepted a position at First Lady Beauty Salons to manage a salon in the Woodville mall. Later, she was promoted to open and operate salons for First Lady throughout the tri- state region. Thereafter, she was a recruiter and instructor for The Toledo Academy of Beauty. After retirement, Nancy worked part time at Parkcliffe Community Center providing services to Alzheimer residents. She always said this was the most rewarding part of her career. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, gardening, snowmobiling, and boating on Lake Erie. Nancy was also known for her great love of all animals. Surviving is her husband David; daughters Terri (Mike) Gross and Sue (Greg) Sottek; sons Doug (Tracy) Austin, Gerald (Sally) Warner, John (Brenda) Warner and Brian Warner; 16 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter. Friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee on Saturday, February 13, 2016 after 12 Noon where funeral services will follow at 5 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Toledo Humane Society 827 Illinois Ave. Maumee, Ohio 43537. Nancy was known for her caring, compassion, sense of humor, feistiness and her love for family, friends and all living things.
