Mary E. Stulpin, 67, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, after a very brief illness. The daughter of Herman J. and Caroline A. (Hiteshew) Haack, she was born in Oregon, Ohio July 7, 1957. She graduated from Clay High School in 1975. She later earned her bachelor’s degree, in education, from the University of Toledo.
Mary went on to teach with the Head Start Program throughout the Toledo area for the next 47 years, retiring in 2024. She married her best friend, Larry A. Stulpin, in Northwood, Ohio on September 4, 1982, and together the shared the next 42 years together.
Family was very important to Mary, and she loved every one of them! Her sons fondly remember their family trips to the Toledo Zoo, Greenfield Village, and Sauder’s Village as well as the annual treat of attending the performance of the “Nutcracker.” Mary was a very active member of Zion United Methodist Church in Elliston, Ohio where she assisted with the food pantry, serving as a lay minister and doing anything else that needed done. Mary was also an animal lover, especially dogs. She volunteered at several area shelters and rescues and her current companion “Cruz” was one she rescued herself!
Mary is loved by her family, husband, Larry, sons, John T. (Teresa) Stulpin and Corey A. (Stacy) Stulpin, grandsons, Sean Adair and Brantley Stulpin, sister, Laurie (Mike) Andryc, nieces and nephews, Carrie (Trent) Wilhelm - Reagan & Brynn, Adam (Megumi) Andryc – Kenji, Ben (Courtney) Andryc – Christie Andryc. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, July 21, 2024, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Zion United Methodist Church, 18045 W. Williams St., Elliston, Ohio 43432. Interment will take place following the funeral service in the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio, at 1:45 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Zion United Methodist Church Food Pantry or the Pet rescue or shelter of the donor’s choice.
