Mary Ellen Wilcox

Mary Ellen Wilcox, 90, of Perrysburg, OH died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. She was born on May 26, 1925 in Toledo to Joseph L. and Cecilia (Sawicka) Ruth and was married on July 4, 1946 to Robert L. Wilcox who preceded her in death on June 1, 1981. Mary was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy and had worked for over 25 years at the Lion Store as a sales associate. She was a long standing member of Valleywood Golf Club and of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. She is survived by special children, Jeff (Nancy) Wellman of Perrysburg and Alan (Bonnie) Wellman of Grand Rapids, OH. She was also preceded in death by her special companion of 25 years, Ross Wellman, special child, Ken Wellman and his wife, Jill Wellman, and brother, Joseph Ruth. Friends will be received after 12 noon on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Rose Church, or to the donor’s choice.
