Lynn Darrel Elder

Lynn D. Elder, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed on February 21, 2014. Lynn was born December 23, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Margaret and Jack Elder. After graduating from DeVilbiss High School, Lynn enlisted in the United States Air Force, and saw action in the Pacific during World War II. After the war Lynn returned to Toledo, he met the love of his life, Laura Ann Roether Elder. Married more than 63 years , they enjoyed square dancing and traveling to Europe to buy merchandise for the gift store they opened in Perrysburg, Ohio , in 1985, as a retirement business. Prior to that time, Lynn enjoyed long and successful career in banking. Lynn is survived by his loving wife Ann, Daughters Deborah Elder, Pamela Elder, son Gregory Elder, daughter-in-law Karen McAnlis Elder, beloved grandchildren Alexandra and Malcolm, and nieces Catherine Roether Dick (Matthew) and Caroline Roether Bonifas (John) and several great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) from 10 AM-12 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2014 where funeral services will begin at noon.
