Laura Pasienza

Laura Pasienza, age 98 of Toledo passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 21, 2022, in Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. She was born March 29, 1924, in Livonia, Michigan to Jack and Angela (Cona) Funari. She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Laura will be missed for her witty humor, family gatherings and her cooking especially her favorite foods like homemade sausage, spaghetti, canoli and her desserts.

The widow of her husband of 52 years Joseph, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Phil Gozdowski; and grandson Joel Pasienza. Surviving are her daughters, Rosemary Gozdowski, Angeline (Paul) Gilis; sons, Peter (Joanne) and Jack (Lori) Pasienza; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. Toledo (west of Corey) on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 4-8 pm where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St. Toledo, Ohio 43615 after 9 am where the funeral mass will be held at 10 am. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
