Jerry Wayne Howell

Jerry Wayne Howell, 69, of Gypsum, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on August 7, 1949 in Port Clinton, the son of the late Herman “Jake” and Florence (Truex) Howell. On May 10, 1974 he married Judy Gonzales and she survives. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for USCO and the Port Clinton City Schools, retiring in 2013. He enjoyed duck hunting, woodworking, and was a Jack of all Trades. He was also a punter at Winous Point Shooting Club. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy; sons, Justin (Shannon) Howell and Jeffery (Jennifer) Howell; grandchildren, Jadyn, Jabriana, Keegan, Jaxyn, and Josie; sister, Barbara Lovern and brother, Richard Howell. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman “Jake” Howell, mother, Florence Hendricks, step-father, Raymond Hendricks, and brothers, Gary and Gilbert Howell. Friends may call 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted by Fr. John Missler, 9:30 am, Saturday May 25, 2019 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton. Jerry’s family suggest memorial contributions be directed to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or Cancer Services, 505 Perkins Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870.
