Jerry Greear, 70, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with health complications. Born on May 8, 1955, in Port Clinton, Jerry was the beloved son of William and Shirley (Mosley) Greear.
A proud graduate of Port Clinton High School, Jerry went on to dedicate his working years to U.S. Gypsum, where he served diligently as a mill packer until his retirement. On June 24, 2000, Jerry married Susan (Baker) and together they shared 25 years of laughter and companionship.
Jerry was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the great outdoors. He could often be found kayaking, walking, fishing, hiking, camping, or riding his motorcycle. He had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jerry cherished time spent with his grandkids, especially cheering them on at their sporting events. He and Susan enjoyed frequent outings to their favorite restaurants, sharing meals and conversation. Known for his remarkable skills as a handyman, there was hardly anything Jerry couldn’t fix—often doing so better than the professionals. He followed the Cleveland Browns with loyalty and never missed a chance to catch a game. Those who knew him will remember his infectious sense of humor, quick wit, and warm personality.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Greear; his father, William Greear; his children, Danielle Greear and Anthony (Dr. Lucretia Greear); and his grandchildren, Anthony, Caleb, Lucas, and David. He is also survived by his siblings, Clarence "Skeeter" (Rhonda) Greear, Wendy (Dave) Counts, Allen (Margie) Blevins, Troy Blevins, Chuck (Lena) Singleton, and Kimberly (Tom) Snider. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Greear, and his siblings, Billy and Sharon Greear.
