James H. Whitty

James H. Whitty, 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on January 29, 2022, at Arbors of Sylvania, Toledo, Ohio. Jim was born in Toledo on October 1, 1944, to James J. and Mary K. (Foley) Whitty. Jim’s father passed away prior to his birth and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Edward O’Brien.

Jim was a service representative for several Toledo area automotive dealers retiring from Taylor Cadillac after more than ten years of service. He was a very loving and caring man who thought the world and all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was an avid Notre Dame and Ohio State University football fan who tried to never miss a game. When it came to snacks his favorite first choices were Pepsi, popcorn, and Tootsie Rolls!

Jim is survived by his son, James E. Whitty III, daughters, Kimberly (Johnny) Salinas and Angela Whitty, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, sister, Patricia (Michael) Segura and brother, Thomas Whitty. He was preceded in death by his father, James, mother & stepfather, Mary & Edward O’Brien, son, Michael Martin, granddaughter, Jordan Salinas, and siblings, Maryellen, Kathleen, and John, and his faithful friend and companion, Molly.

Visitation for Jim will be from 2:00-4:00 PM, Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home & Crematory – Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, Ohio.  Interment will take place at a later date in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Oregon.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
